The Director of the Public Services Agency, Mircea Eșanu, is participating in the Eastern Partnership Digital Conference 2024, an annual event of the EU4Digital Initiative, which this year is taking place in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium, from 23-29.06.2024.
The event brought together high-level representatives and stakeholders from the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova), the European Union and a number of international organisations.
During the numerous sessions of the Conference, topics related to the digital transformation of the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries, the role of digitalisation in the strategic actions of the Eastern Partnership member states, as well as digital solutions and tools in the current context were discussed.
Participants from the Republic of Moldova presented our country’s projects in the field of digital transformation following the granting of EU candidate country status to the Republic of Moldova and the start of accession negotiations (Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova on initiating negotiations on the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union and negotiations on the draft treaty on the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, signed on 21.06.2024).
The EU4Digital Initiative was officially launched in 2016 by the European Commission at the Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Community, where six regional EU4Digital networks were established to work on priority topics, one of which is Resilient Digital Transformation.
EU4Digital aims to extend the European Union’s Digital Single Market to the Eastern Partnership countries, developing the potential of the digital economy and society in order to ensure economic growth, create more jobs, improve people’s lives and support the business environment.
