The Public Services Agency was established by Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova No. 314 of 22 May 2017, following a reform under which the State Enterprise “State Information Resources Centre ‘Registru’” incorporated nine units of the State Enterprise “State Registration Chamber”, the Civil Status Service and the Licensing Chamber. The Agency holds exclusive rights to provide certain information services and develop software products (including those of national importance).
The Agency is the holder of the main state information resources, the State Population Register and the State Register of Legal Entities, and also maintains departmental registers. It has the exclusive right to develop and issue identity and registration documents, as well as to fulfil direct orders for the production of forms and strict-accountability forms.
