The aspects concerning the legal regime and the procedure for registering a branch of a foreign legal entity in the Republic of Moldova are regulated by the Civil Code of the Republic of Moldova no.1107/2002, as subsequently amended and supplemented (art. 240-243), by Law no.220/2007 on the state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs (art. 12) and by other normative acts in force.
The list of documents required for registering branches of a foreign legal entity is exhaustively set out in art.12 para. (31) of the said Law.
It should be noted that the legislator has not regulated the procedure for registering a branch of a foreign legal entity in the Republic of Moldova separately according to the nature of the purposes pursued.
