Private detective and security activity

  • the activity of foreign security and detective organisations carried out on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is prohibited;
  • foreign detective and security organisations, foreign citizens and stateless persons are prohibited from:
    • carrying out detective and security activity as an individual entrepreneur;
    • founding a detective and security organisation or participating as an associate in its establishment;
    • having subordinated to them a private detective and security organisation or a specialised security subdivision;
  • the permitted types of private detective and security activity are specified in art.6 of Law no.283/2003 on private detective and security activity. A private security organisation is not entitled to carry out any other entrepreneurial activity, with the exception of the sale and purchase of the equipment necessary for carrying out private security activity (art.22 para.(2) of Law no.283/2003);
  • the restrictions on the activity of a private detective are provided for in art.20 of Law no.283/2003;
  • the Model Regulation on private security activity is approved by Law no.283/2003 (annex no.2).
  • in order to carry out the activity, the administrator of the enterprise must meet the conditions provided for in art.22 para.(3) of Law no.283/2003.
